I have a 1992 Ford F150 with a 5.8L 351 Windsor. Im looking for somthing that’ll give my truck more power, and give it that rough idle sound. Any suggestions on what I might get, and how much power I might end up gaining from it?

  1. depending on what you are going to do with your truck and what rpm range you are going to run in will be a good place to start you can go with a slightly bigger than stock cam with hydraulic lifters and get the lope or you can go with a lot bigger cam with roller lifters and get the same effect or you can buy a set of 1.7 rockers with a mild cam and have even more lope just remember that if you put a bugger cam in your truck you will have to get a good programmer that is if you do not have a mass air flow system other wise i would recommend a mild cam with 1.7 rockers rpm range between 2000 _ 6500

  2. I would start by talking to some mustange guys. Thay will know what will work with your fuel inj. system. Yours is a roller cam the size of dur. is diffrent than on my solid cam. It’s size is 280s comp cam you will need a 3000 or bigger stall with a auto trans. I you have 5 speed your ok. Your local speed shop can also help alot.
