It started that they wouldn’t work if steering wheel was tilted all the way down. Now they won’t work at all. All fuses are good. Any Help?

It is a Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 2WD 3.0 Liter V6 engine. It has a ball socket located in the bumper that is rated at 2000 lbs, and a second hitch bolted/welded to the frame rated at 3500 lbs. If any more information is needed please feel free to leave a message in the answers and I will post more info.
Neglected to mention it is a 2000 Ford Ranger.

Gavin E asked:
I need bigger (floatier) tires for my truck for use on sand and mud. Can I put wider/taller tires on my stock rims without a lift and not get any rubbing?
