Hard to change 1999 Ford Ranger 4X4 ball joints and rear drum brakes?
June 28th, 2006 by Ford Truck Partedwin_farr asked:
I have replaced numerous engine parts, tires, and disc brake parts but have never tried drum brakes. Are they about the same or should I just let a shop do it?
I also have been told that my ball joints have a slight “knock” when the tire is pried with a digging bar (recently by a garage). They wanted $1200 to replace 4 ball joints, rear brake pads and the parking brake assy in the rear drum.. Does this sound right or should I attempt the ball joint replacement myself?
