Incarnadin asked:
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer Sport and I need detailed instructions(pictures would be great but not necessary) about what kind of hitch to get, how to install the hitch, attach the trailer, and connect the trailer’s brake lights. The trailer would be about 2500-3000lbs.

My friend has a 1987 ford ranger 4×4 and we want to go up to the mountains, and we don’t know how to put it into 4×4. it has locking hubs, i just don’t know if you lock them into 4×4 first or pull the ever inside to 4×4 low.
and does it have to be in neutral, or does the truck have to be off.

I’m looking at buying a used Ford Ranger. A lot of ones I see are 2000’s with around 100,000 miles. About how long or how many miles will they last without serious repairs?

moshugp asked: Yet another Explorer question. Please note: this has only happened twice. It only happens upon inserting the key into the ignition w/o cranking. It has happened before and after the cruise control recall. The smoke comes out of the hazard lights button (surrounding hole) and the cruise control stick (surrounding hole). HELP!!!!! Akins Ford in Winder, GA says it’s unrelated to the recall. I’ve heard it’s the multifunction switch. Thoughts?
I already know there’s a colony of evil micro-gnomes living under the steering wheel and that they are plotting the downfall of my truck, so please don’t use that as an answer. I want a mechanical answer.

Mr. KnowItAll, did you know that you are absolutely no help whatsoever? Bet you didn’t. AH HA! Relinquish your title immediately.
